R.I.P. Kristian Di Piano

R.I.P. Kristian Di Piano

Born July 5, 1989, Kristian, younger brother of Rob(aka Spitty Crack of I.R.D.) has become another soul taken down by the drug epidemic. His passing comes before hitting the age of 21. It's a shame that we never exactly got to share a positive experience. Hopefully you are in a better place.

My prayers go out to Kristian, Rob, and their family. Stay strong brother.

today a soldier died another casualty to the war on drugs. these demons cant be seen rest in peace kristian di piano - Robert Di Piano

I.R.D. - Getting Hit By Cars & Still Living... Literally

Here it is... Illest Rhyme Droppaz - Getting Hit By Cars & Still Living... Literally

Released Saturday, February 27th, to coincide with the fundraiser for our bud Greg Welch, who was hit by a car & suffered several life threatening injuries. We already sold physical copies, with all proceeds going towards the cause. This along with help from a lot of others, raised a whopping $blah, blah, blah. Special thanks to Wendy Scimeme, Kristen Anderson, and everyone else that helped out with the fundraiser!

Some words from the Cap'n...
In support of our friend Greg Welch, the IRD crew has brought together a compilation of songs that represents Greg's traumatic experience, his struggle against sustained injuries, and his "never quit" attitude that will bring him a bright future. The first song "I Can Not Wait" is a celebration song of anticipation and hope of Greg returning to his home in Stony Brook and to be around his family and friends. "Remember Back in the Day" is another feel good track to remind us of the craziest party in our high school history, WelchFest (I'm sure you remember how awesome that was or... maybe not). "The Journey" and "Phoenix Rising" represent Greg's battle with life threatening injuries and his fight to live a normal life. "Get Wild" and "FuNkHoUsE" provide some more party music to celebrate Greg's life and all the joy he brings to us. "Dreams" ft. Lanni G (which will be on the new album, THE FETUS) is an uplifting song with a strong message to make your dreams become reality. This fits Greg's story so well because doctor's told him he had only 48 hours to live, he lived. Doctor's said his arm was going to have be amputated, he kept the arm. Doctor's said he may never leave a wheelchair, he's walking today. Greg's determination and this song should be motivation to help anyone achieve their goals. Finally "Dare to Be Great" is an instrumental for those people who aren't satisfied with being average and taking risks to do something great for this world. The beat provokes thoughts of going beyond your limits to achieve something never thought imaginable. That is where Greg is, because after beating the Grim Reaper in a knockout, drag em out war, you can only imagine the successes he will have in his future. The other tracks are just great music and help guide the album along fluidly. This project came together on very short notice, but I hope you enjoy "Getting Hit By Cars & Still Living... Literally". Use this music and Greg's story as inspiration to beat the struggles of life and enjoy the beautiful moments as well.

One Love,
CPT.

North of the Border: Tyler Durand

Check out this new crack from Tyler Durand, hailing from Brantford, Ontario. Never heard of him, til I saw this track. I honestly only checked it out for the Chaundon feature, the Eric G production, and I figured he was related to NC singer Carlitta Durand. Well, little did I know that Tyler would end up being the best part of the track. So I did my research, and this is definitely someone to keep your eye in, as he has a dope mixtape It's Not That Serious, and the follow-up It's Not That Serious 2 coming soon!

Skyzoo - HHO Artist of the Week

HHO's artist of the week, Skyzoo talks about his music, his debut album "The Salvation", the Brooklyn hustle. He basically explains what hip-hop should be. "You had to be dope. You had to go in, be able to spit at any give, make records, pick dope beats." And that is why Skyzoo is my personal favorite emcee doing it right now, well along with his music of course.

Oh Happy Days (w/ video)

New Words, new Pack, "Lil Wayne & Gucci Mane just got locked up(YES!)" Oh happy days!
“Things have been so bad and people are so eager to just be satisfied that they lowered their standards for everything, but we can do better than that. Its like if a kid scrapes his knee and you give him a lolipop, he stops crying, but at some point you’re going to have to fix that wound.” – PackFM

UPDATE: Brought this back up top since Pack just released a video to this track

The Knux - Fuck You (FreEP)

The Knux got praise from all over the place with their debut album "Remind Me in 3 Days...", mainly because of their singles "Bang! Bang!" & "Cappuccino", which I've posted the videos for below. So naturally I checked it out. I thought it was cool, but wasn't blown away and never really gave them another listen. Well I heard this track "Floozy" from this EP, and decided they deserve their credit. And I haven't even listened to the other 4 tracks on this EP. But check it out. (Artwork by Shake of 2dopboyz.com)

1. Floozy
2. Pop the Cork
3. Fruits (feat. Malbec)
4. Watchu Say
5. Fuck You
